Improving the view?

An application for a wind turbine at Baldastard, so close to the Estate boundary that if it fell down it would probably land on Gilston, has been submitted to Fife Council. The Largo Community Council held a public meeting and afterwards objected on Landscape grounds and no wonder!

This is the view there would be of the turbine looking due West from the farmhouse at West Gilston Mains, not an image presented to the planning authority by the developer.

For 150 years we have planted trees to enhance and improve the landscape on the Estate. In the last 20 years particularly we have done much to screen buildings and improve the view for everyone's benefit - which makes this particular proposal hard to swallow.
