Highlands of Fife Ploughing Association Match 2011

Thursday 28 April 2011

Highlands of Fife Ploughing Association

The Highlands of Fife Ploughing Association was inaugurated on the 23rd of January 1909. Alot of water had flowed under the bridge, since the last match was held on the 11th of February 1939 at Braeside, Peat Inn, in Fife; however, to celebrate the Centenary of the founding—and the 70th Anniversary of the pre WW II match—the Association was reformed in 2009 and staged the first match since 1939 on the 7th of March, at Radernie, Peat Inn.

On the 5th March 2011 the annual event was hosted by Lochty Farm on the Balcaskie Estate and proved to be a popular addition to the ploughing calendar with a full compliment of 75 competitors.
