Fisher Lass finds a safe home

Sunday 10 March 2013

Fisher Lass

Balcaskie is pleased to be able to offer a dry and secure storage and workshop space for the Fisher Lass, the St Ayles skiff of the Pittenweem Rowing Club.  The Fisher Lass is one of the Coastal Rowing Project skiffs and was built in 2012 by the PIttenweem Rowing Club.

With so many of the sheds and garage spaces in Pittenweem now converted to residential use there is less space within the village for this type of non-commercial, community use.  The skiff was built in the shed of another local farmer and has been stored outside since then, but now some minor maintenance work is needed and the Club needed somewhere to undertake this.  Balcaskie had some spare space in one of its barns and was pleased to be able to put it to better use.

You can find out more about the Pittenweem Rowing Club here and support them through their facebook page.  You can find out more about the Scottish Coastal Rowing Association - and get involved - here.
