Update to November 2016

After a huge amount of work by the community, ENCAP is delighted to announce the launch of the Colinsburgh & Kilconquhar Community Action Plan.  A copy of the Action Plan can be downloaded here.

The Action Plan is the culmination of six months’ community engagement which has been led by a group of individuals representing different groups and organisations as well as representatives from the local community.  The Action Plan contains Themes and Priorities which have been identified through surveys carried out over the period as well as stakeholder interviews and an Open Day event held in Colinsburgh Town Hall.

To realise the priorities set out in the Plan members of the steering group recognise the need to identify and work with others.  They have identified a number of potential key stakeholders to assist with the implementation and will also actively seek support from within the local community.

A launch event will be held on Saturday 5th November 10am-11.30am in Colinsburgh Town Hall.

Update to February 2016

The East Neuk Community Action Plan (ENCAP) project is pleased to announce that Colinsburgh and Kilconquhar will be the first community to develop its Action Plan.

Mia Gonzalez Noda, ENCAP's project officer says that training of local community agents has now taken place and 2 have been taken on in preparation of the Plans starting. All households will have a survey delivered and collected by local volunteers before Easter.

Local stakeholders will be interviewed and an open day is planned for the end of May, early June.

This is a fantastic opportunity to have a say in what happens in your community and we would urge you to take part and make a difference.

Alex Nairn, Chair of the Steering Group said: "this exciting project is a groundbreaking community collaboration between Fife Council, Fife Voluntary Action, the East Neuk Estates and most importantly, our communities in the East Neuk & Landward.”

Update to April 2015

With apologies for the lack of updates...:  ENCAP has now been funded for a the employment of a Project Manager and for the development of a pilot Community Action Plan.  We are encouraging any one of our East Neuk or Landward Communities to be the first to pilot Community Action Plan.

As part of this we are now actively seeking to employ a part time Project Manager to take the project forward.  See [link to be added]

We are very grateful for the continued support of Fife Council as well, of course to the members of Steering Group along with other members of our communities who give their time and expertise to ENCAP.

Update to August 2014

We have now appointed the STAR Development group (Lesley Campbell & Colin Roxburgh) to assist in the development of a toolbox for the creation of Community Action Plans across the East Neuk & Landward of Fife.     They are currently meeting with a wide range of stakeholders with a view to delivering their toolbox in December 2014.

A number of the East Neuk & Landward communities have shown interest in using this toolbox to develop their CAP in 2015 and the ENCAP Steering Group will be working hard with all the EN and Landward Communities to help them to create and implement their part of the ENCAP jigsaw which will see coordinated Community Action Plans across the area.

 Update to February 2014

We have now had our funding application to LEADER approved.  Matched funding from Fife Council and private contributors has also been approved.  We are extremely grateful to all of these contributors.

We are working with the solicitors to get our formal constitution and OSCR registration confirmed.  In the mean time we are drafting the project brief to allow consultants to tender for the funded work.

Update to December 2013

We worked hard through the second half of 2013 to develop the Steering Group and to submit our final application for funding from Fife LEADER and the associated matched funding.  In December we were pleased to be awarded £5,000 from the Fife Council Locality Budget as potential matched funding for our LEADER bid.  Thank you Fife Council.  We are now eagerly awaiting the outcome of our LEADER bid and will update this page early in 2014.

We are now live on www.encap.info, though for the moment we continue to share the site of the East Neuk Estates.

Update to May 2013

The Steering Group for the East Neuk Community Action Plan (ENCAP) met on the 24th May.

We are still at the pre-application stage of LEADER funding and a draft application is being prepared.  In the mean time, the Steering Group reaffirmed its commitment to engagement with the community through our locally-elected Councillors, through the East Neuk Forum of Community Councils, through the local Churches and, of course, directly through this website.

The next meeting of the Steering Group is scheduled for the beginning of July.

Update to March 2013

The Steering Group for the East Neuk Community Action Plan (ENCAP) met on the 15th March for its third meeting.

The aim of the Steering Group is to direct the process of the creation of a Community Action Plan for the East Neuk and Landward areas of North East Fife.

The group has already submitted an Expression of Interest to Fife’s LEADER Local Area Group, seeking funding for the development of the brief, which itself will then be the basis for the development of the Community Action Plan.

At this meeting, the Group discussed the importance of establishing an appropriate formal structure and this is now in-hand.  It also noted the importance of maintaining open communication between the Group and the many stakeholder groups within the East Neuk and Landward.  Several of these groups – such as the East Neuk Forum of Community Councils – are represented directly on the Steering Group and efforts will be made to keep all others up to date.  This will be done through a regular update on the ENCAP website and through a regular sharing of information between groups.

The next meeting of the Steering Group is scheduled for the end of May.
